The launch of the philatelic issue was led by the Minister of Information Technologies and Communications, Diego Molano and President of National Postal Services, Juan Ernesto Vargas Uribe. It took place on Tuesday, November 23 in the Auditorium ‘Teresa Cuervo’ National Museum.
The network of National Postal Services 4-72 launches a stamp on homenajeal National Ballet of Colombia Sonia Osorio. They will be 90,000 units with a unit value of 200 thousand pesos.
The stamp issue illustrates a native Colombian Pacific playing partner, figuratively, a step dancing ‘currulao’ fusion of black and Spanish folklore.
The stamp was made in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Foundation of the National Ballet of Colombia Sonia Osorio.
“Exalted at major venues in the world, the Ballet has managed to make very high the name of Colombia, allowing our country to resonate internationally for its rich cultural indigenous” said Juan Ernesto Vargas Uribe, President of National Postal Services 4 -72.
For the Founder and Managing Director of Ballet, Sonia Osorio, the postal recognition given by the National Government “is a high motivation for me, the 43 dancers, 12 musicians and the entire management and staff forming the Ballet”.
